A mysterious new type of malware has infected hundreds of computers in the Middle East.
The virus is also known as the Mahdi - a term that refers to an Islamic messiah foretold. It has affected computers in state buildings, engineering firms, financial institutions and academic centers.
Once installed, it records every movement made by the user to steal login information, take screenshots of computer activity, such as e-mail networks or social exchanges, and record audio.
