Even if you do not have a wireless router or modem you can still start with a Wi-Fi at home while your computer has an adapter built into the wireless network. You can use what is called "ad hoc", which is a wireless network that is generated directly from your computer. If that computer is connected to the Internet, each device in the area near the ad-hoc and share the internet as well as a Wi-Fi.
